Daniel Johansen

Myofunctional Therapist

Daniel graduated from Timpview High School in Provo, Utah, and now lives with his family in Cedar Hills. He earned his associate’s degree from Utah Valley University before completing a degree in psychology at The University of Iowa.

Before moving to Iowa, Daniel worked as a Family Support Provider, assisting children and teens with a wide range of behavioral, physical, and mental health challenges. In Iowa, he continued his work in this field as a behavior specialist in a behavior disorder classroom for the Iowa City Community School District.

For seven years, Daniel embraced the role of full-time stay-at-home dad—a position he affectionately describes as “circus ringleader” to his three amazing children. He now brings that same energy, empathy, and adaptability to his role at Alpine Airway Wellness.

Daniel has been a Certified Myofunctional Therapist for five years and is passionate about helping children and adults breathe, sleep, and live better. He has also completed coursework in cranial suture release and plays a vital role on the clinical team, assisting the doctors and treating his own patients.

Around the office, Daniel is affectionately known as “the child whisperer”—a name given by staff and parents alike. He has a remarkable ability to connect with children, keeping them calm, entertained, and cooperative, even during more challenging procedures.

Outside the office, you’ll likely find Daniel camping with his family or riding his penny-farthing bicycle—always up for a little fun and adventure.
