What is Vivos?
The Vivos System is an advanced therapeutic protocol that combines the use of oral appliance technology developed to treat mild-to-moderate obstructive sleep apnea, snoring, and sleep-disordered breathing in adults.
The Vivos System offers non-surgical, non-pharmaceutical, and pain-free approach to expand the jaws and airway.
How Vivos Works
Initial Consultation and Comprehensive Diagnosis
The Vivos System typically begins with a thorough and complete diagnosis of your condition by a qualified medical doctor working in close collaboration with a specially-trained independent dentist.
Our comprehensive exams include a full head CBCT (3D x-ray), photo series, consult, multi-day home sleep test, intraoral digital scan, and comprehensive head and neck exam. We work in conjunction with either your own Primary Care Provider or a tele-medicine board certified sleep physician to get you accurately diagnosed medically. We use all the additional pieces of information to customize treatment that will best suit your needs and goals.
The initial consultation fee is $200 that includes exam, CBCT, digital scan, and multi-day sleep test.
Airway Intelligence Report
Once you have completed diagnostic procedures and required tests, your healthcare team will compile your Airway Intelligence Report.

The length of treatment varies per patient, based on compliance and complexity, but generally falls between 18-24 months. You should wear your Vivos device 12-16 hours out of a 24 hour day (that includes sleeping), the longer you wear your device during the day, the shorter overall treatment time can be.

Most patients feel the effects of treatment within the first few days or weeks. During treatment, periodic adjustments to your appliance are made by your treating dentist, who often works in close collaboration with a medical sleep specialist.

Upon completion of treatment, patients will be ready to enjoy a vibrant, healthy life.
The Vivos system causes growth to occur, which develops the airway and places the jaw in a happy place. After therapy, the dentist and patient will evaluate esthetic goals and if desired a short treatment of clear aligner therapy can be recommended.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Vivos System treats sleep apnea by stimulating bone growth in the mouth and nasal passageways. Simply put, through micro-adjustments, the Vivos DNA appliance painlessly and gradually widens the airways, allowing for easier breathing that results in a better night’s sleep.
To widen the upper or lower jaw portion of your Vivos appliance, simply insert the key into the mechanism in the middle and turn it in the direction of the arrow. This adjusts the appliance by millimeters at a time, until the desired width is achieved. Dr. Brittany will teach you how and when to turn your appliance.
Absolutely! The DNA appliance has been cleared as a Class 1 device by the FDA.
