PRF — Platelet-Rich Fibrin
Prepared from a small sample of your own blood, concentrated to retain platelets and growth factors, with nothing synthetic added.

What it is
A small blood draw is processed in-office to concentrate platelets and fibrin. Because the material comes from you, nothing foreign is introduced. It is used as one element of a plan rather than a treatment on its own.
How we think about it
PRF is discussed as a supportive adjunct alongside other treatments. We describe what current evidence does and does not establish, and appropriateness is determined case by case.
- Derived from your own blood sample
- Used alongside other treatments, not instead of them
- Individual response varies
What a visit involves
The draw and processing add time to the appointment. We review your health history and any medications that affect platelets or clotting before proceeding.
Clinically reviewed by Dr. Brittany Johansen. This page is general education, not a diagnosis or a treatment plan.
We see patients at our Alpine, Utah office, including families from Highland, Cedar Hills, American Fork, Lehi and across Utah County.
A conversation is a reasonable place to begin.
We’ll review your goals, your health history and whether this treatment is a sensible fit — or whether something else would serve you better.
