EMFACE®

Tone isn’t only skin deep.

EMFACE® combines synchronized radiofrequency with electrical facial muscle stimulation in a needle-free treatment that addresses the skin and the muscle beneath it at the same time — designed to support facial tone gradually, without incisions or injectables.

Two layers at once

Skin and the muscle under it.

The skin above

Radiofrequency energy warms the tissue near the surface. The intent is to support the skin’s own remodeling processes over time rather than to resurface it.

The muscle beneath

At the same time, energy is directed at the underlying facial muscles, producing rhythmic contractions. Much of what reads as facial tone comes from that layer, not from skin alone.

How it differs

EMFACE® and laser rejuvenation are not the same tool.

EMFACE®

  • Needle-free; nothing is injected
  • Addresses skin and the muscle layer together
  • Hands-free while the applicators are in place
  • Change, when it occurs, develops gradually

Laser rejuvenation

  • Also non-invasive, but energy-based on the tissue itself
  • Focused on skin quality and collagen remodeling
  • Directed at a specific area, including intraorally for some treatments
  • Sometimes considered alongside EMFACE® for selected patients

Neither replaces surgery or injectable filler, and neither is described as permanent.

Who it may suit

A reasonable fit when…

  • Interest in facial tone and definition without needles
  • A preference for a hands-free, non-invasive treatment
  • Comfort with change that develops gradually
  • Willingness to attend a course of visits rather than one

Who it is not for

Where the answer is no.

  • Certain implanted electronic or metal devices — assessed individually
  • Anyone seeking a surgical-level or permanent change
  • Anyone wanting added volume, which this does not provide
  • Some medical histories and conditions, reviewed at consultation

What a visit involves

Nothing surprising should happen.

  1. 01

    Applicators are positioned

Applicators rest against the face and are held in place. Nothing is injected and nothing is cut.

  2. 02

    Warmth and contraction

Most people describe warmth together with rhythmic muscle contractions. It is not painful for most patients, and you can ask us to pause.

  3. 03

    Hands-free

Once positioned, the treatment runs without anything further being done to you.

  4. 04

    Afterwards

Any aftercare guidance is given to you directly, because it depends on your evaluation and plan.

Your plan

Recommendations are individualized.

How many sessions, how they are spaced, how long each takes and whether any maintenance is appropriate are clinical decisions made after evaluation. We deliberately do not publish those specifics, because the honest answer depends on the patient.

Why in this practice

Muscle is already how we think.

We already think about facial muscle

Jaw function, muscle tension and facial posture are part of our daily clinical work. A muscle-aware aesthetic treatment fits that thinking.

We evaluate before we recommend

The first question is what you want changed — not which device is available.

We say when it is the wrong tool

Sometimes a laser treatment is the better fit, and sometimes nothing is.

A different conversation

EMFACE® is also discussed functionally.

For selected patients with jaw and facial muscle tension, EMFACE® is considered in a functional context rather than an aesthetic one. The goals, the evaluation and the way we talk about it are different.

The consultation

We start with your goals, not a device.

We ask what you want changed, review your health history and any implanted devices, and then say plainly whether EMFACE® is a reasonable tool for it — including when it is not.

Questions

Questions about EMFACE®.

What is EMFACE®?
It is a needle-free treatment that applies radiofrequency energy to the skin and, at the same time, energy that stimulates the facial muscles beneath it.
Is it a facelift?
No. We do not describe it as a facelift or as a substitute for surgery, and we do not claim permanent lifting.
Are there needles?
No. Nothing is injected and nothing is cut. It also does not add volume the way an injectable does.
What does it feel like?
Most people describe warmth along with rhythmic muscle contractions. Tell us at any point if anything feels uncomfortable.
How many sessions will I need, and how far apart?
That is individualized. Session count, spacing and any maintenance are clinical decisions made after evaluation, so we do not publish a schedule here.
How long is a session?
It takes 20 minutes for each session up to 2 areas, if you choose to do a full face that consists of 4 areas and would take 40 minutes.
When might I notice a difference?
Any change develops gradually. Responses vary between patients, and we discuss what is realistic for you specifically.
How long do results last?
We do not describe results as permanent or guaranteed. Aging continues, and any maintenance approach is discussed individually.
Is there downtime?
No, you can resume normal activities immediately after treatment.
Who is not a candidate?
Certain implanted devices, medical conditions and histories make this inappropriate. Suitability is assessed individually before anything is scheduled.
Can it be combined with laser treatment?
For selected patients, yes. Whether and how treatments are sequenced is a clinical judgement rather than a package.
Is this the same as EMFACE for jaw pain?
No. Some patients are treated in a functional context for jaw and facial muscle tension, which is a different conversation with different goals. That is covered on a separate page.
